APA hotel is my favorite chain in Japan. You always get a clean room and it's always fully stocked. Each room comes with a toothbrush, toothpaste, hair brush, razor, sponge, shaving cream, hair cover, Q-tips, hair elastics, shampoo, conditioner, soap, tea, coffee, mugs, sugar, blow dryer, manga, pen, notes, PJs, and a mini fridge. They also decorate your bed with a little origami crane! And every day they restock the toothbrush, toothpaste, hair brush, razor, sponge, shaving cream, hair cover, Q-tips, hair elastics, coffee, tea, PJs and towels. They also include a bottle of water. It's great because you never have to bring anything with you!
If you put up the do not disturb sign then they leave a bag of the items outside your door. They also have a breakfast buffet for about a $6 extra charge. APA hotel has locations all over Japan and they are usually a pretty good price. So no matter where you go you always have a good hotel option. I was lucky this time and got put on the 15th floor (the top floor) so I had a great view!
They also have a floor that you can go to that has an ice machine, vending machine, laundry machine, and a microwave. And it's also very convenient to check out. You don't have to go to the desk unless you have extra charges from movies and such. Otherwise you just slip your card into this box and leave.
I've stayed at an APA hotel 3 times now. Each time for a few days and I've always enjoyed it! And if you want added security you have to use your room key to just get in the elevator so you know you won't have random people just walking about. But Japan is pretty safe in general so I wouldn't worry too much. So if you're looking for a good hotel in Japan I highly recommend APA.
Here are some photos of my hotel room.

All my love,
Shanti
